Tasks
Perspective
Perspective exercises helped me better understand depth, scale, and spatial relationships in drawing. Through practicing one-, two-, and three-point perspective, I learned how objects relate to each other within a space and how distance can be visually represented. Applying these principles allowed me to create the illusion of depth and structure, making my compositions feel more realistic, visually engaging, and immersive for the viewer.

Composition & Value Studies
Value and composition studies allow me to better understand how light, contrast, and arrangement affect the overall impact of a drawing. By applying different values and thoughtful composition, I can create a sense of depth, balance, and focus, guiding the viewer’s eye while emphasizing form, structure, and visual clarity within my work.

Progress
Throughout Project 1, I applied the composition and value studies I learned, using them to guide the overall layout, value placement, and exterior coloring of the artwork.

Reflection
Through this assignment, I applied what I learned from my composition
and value studies into the development of my work. While working on the
project, I learned a lot about controlling value and the overall
painting process. The experience was a mix of fun and stress, as some
parts were challenging but also satisfying to complete. Even though I
usually prefer drawing characters and tend to avoid studies like this, I
understand that practicing these fundamentals is important and helps me
improve as an artist.
