Task 2

In class, we were tasked with brainstorming ideas for an app we’d like to create. As a cosplayer, I’ve always wanted to design a shopping app specifically for cosplayers. Personally, I struggle with having to search for items across multiple platforms—like lenses on Instagram or Lazada, costumes on Taobao, and shoes, accessories, or props on Shopee. It’s such a hassle to juggle so many apps at once, so I thought, why not create an app that brings everything cosplay-related into one place?

Sir gave us an empathy map template to fill and here is our empathy map.

Once we finalized the idea, we moved on to persona research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of our target audience. To gather qualitative insights, we interviewed 8 cosplayers—5 of whom I knew and 3 brought in by Adora. I conducted my interviews via Zoom, recording each session for reference.
